Privacy Policy

The short version

Kessavo's retirement and Social Security calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter — savings, spending, Social Security benefits, state of residence — are never sent to a server and are never stored by us. So that you can leave the calculator and come back to it, your entries are saved in your own browser's local storage, on your device only; you can erase them at any time with the "Clear saved entries" link below the calculator, or by clearing your browser's site data. No account is required to run a calculation, so we have no way to connect what you enter to your identity even if we wanted to.

This policy covers the calculator and this website. Kessavo is operated by Digital Web Team, LLC.

What we don't collect

• Anything you enter into the calculator — financial details, birth year, state, Social Security information — is processed locally in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
• We don't ask for your name, phone number, or mailing address at any point. Paid access, when it launches, will need an email address and nothing else — your calculator inputs stay in your browser either way.
• We don't use your calculator inputs for advertising, don't sell data (we don't have any calculator data to sell), and don't share it with third parties, because it never reaches us in the first place.

What we may collect

Website analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) on every page, including the calculator. It records how the site is used — pages viewed, how a visitor arrived, browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from IP address — so we can see which pages are worth keeping and which aren't. It does not receive anything you type into the calculator: those figures stay in your browser and are sent neither to us nor to Google. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms; you can opt out across all sites with Google's browser add-on, or by using your browser's own tracking protection.

Paid access and billing information. Paid access is not yet available for purchase. Here is how it is being built, disclosed now rather than after it goes live. Payment will be handled by Stripe, and card details will be entered with Stripe directly — they are not designed to pass through or be stored on Kessavo systems. Access will work by email rather than by password: you enter your email address, we send you a sign-in link, and that link opens the calculator on your device. What that leaves us holding is your email address and Stripe's record of whether your access is current. Your calculator inputs are not part of it — they stay in your browser exactly as they do today. This section will be finalised with the complete detail, including Stripe's own privacy terms, before paid access goes live.

Feedback you send us. If you use the Feedback page or email us, we retain that correspondence to respond to you and improve the product. We don't use it for any other purpose.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and related) to tell one visit from another and to recognise a returning browser. They are analytics cookies only — we don't run advertising or re-targeting cookies, and nothing you enter into the calculator is stored in them. Beyond those, Kessavo sets no cookies of its own, because there is nothing to log in to today. Paid access will use sign-in links rather than passwords, which requires a standard session cookie to keep you signed in; this section will be updated to disclose it plainly before that ships.

The calculator does use your browser's local storage to remember the entries you make, so that a refresh or a break part-way through doesn't lose your work. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted anywhere: it is readable only by this site, on this device, and it holds the figures you typed into the calculator along with the step you had reached. Clearing it — via the "Clear saved entries" link below the calculator, or your browser's own site-data controls — removes it completely.

Children's privacy

Kessavo is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. A material change — for example, moving from local-only calculator storage to any form of server-side data — will come with an active notice on the site, not a silent date change, given how central the current claim is to the product's positioning.
